SCHOOL DAYZ !

It is Thursday still :L It has been a very long day L I’m wrecked. We have organised a trip for our mini-company to the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant for tomorrow. It was originally for Tuesday but we had to postpone it to Friday. Can’t wait! Today has been an eventful day. In art we have decided to do a poster to go with our Home Ec cuisine project. We have decided to do a Hindu Temple with Indian people praying in it to show the Indian fashion as well as their elaborate designs and distinctive colour. In careers we had a talk on 5th year options as our final date is nearing. As a result of this talk I have decided to do Chemistry, Physics and Home Ec as my three option subjects. We also had a talk from Mrs. Watson on choosing Geography for the Leaving Certificate. It was interesting how many jobs you can get with studying it for the Leaving Certificate :L

Drama Competition

Hey it is the 27th of January! On Wednesday we went to a drama competition in Mullingar. Which is by the way in Westmeath? I thought it was in Meath. I guess you learn something new every day! It would have made my day if I had have seen Niall Horan :L Anyway back to the drama competition we arrived there at 10.30, we were the only schools there. It was amazing to perform all our hard work to a judge and get constructive feed back. If we get through we will be going to Cork to compete in the finals. That would sure be a wonderful experience!! At around 1.00 two other schools arrived one from Kilkenny and one from Donegal. The Donegal accent is sooo cool :L All the plays were of a very high standard and they all deserve to get through to the final stage. The bus journey was very long but the bus driver played really good music. Except for the fact that he changed the station every 2 minutes!!!

Tag Rugby Blitz ! !

Wednesday was a regular day for us in school with very little happening, except for the half day. On Thursday we had the Tag Rugby Blitz in Tallaght. We played in St. Marks School. We were nervous on arrival as all the other teams had proper jerseys and full kits. They were well prepared. Most of them looked like they had played it before. Half way through we noticed we weren’t that bad at all and we stood a chance. It was an amazing day and it was definitely worth missing the half day for. As a result of partaking in the Blitz we received a free t-shirt and bag from the coaches and it was sponsored by Centra.  On arrival to the school our TY and the 5th year parent teacher meetings were taking place. What a good end to a fantastic day ! ! J
I learned a valuable lesson that day: it’s not about having all the gear and equipment. It is about how you play and what you put into the day J

Normal dayz, but yet exciting :)

Hey ! : D This week has been a long week but exciting week. These are some of the things we got up to :

Lets face it we got the remainder of our tests back on Monday and our reports arrived at home.
We have been perfecting our drama for the drama competition in Mullingar for Tuesday. Watching the three other plays and giving constructive advice. In mini-company we arranged a meeting in the water treatment area in Leixlip for Monday. We are having a guide of the area and get to see all the processes water has to go through before it is piped directly to our homes. Just like we learned in Geography class in 3rd year!! J

Young Scientist !!

On Friday all 2nd and 4th years went to the BT Young Scientist Exhibition. It was excellent!! J I really enjoyed it. There we went to the Dinosaur and the Fire Show. The Fire Show was really cool. Bebhinn and myself also tried to get into the drums show as she is outstanding at playing the drums, but they only let in 20 people at a time and we were numbers 21 & 22. What a miss!! L The projects were all very good especially the ones about swine flu and make up: it told us all about the foundations that were tested on animals, and the harmful effects it can cause to us. Both these projects made me more aware about things going on around me! J

J we also got our test results back this week and we all did very well. According to the teachers our reports are out in the post! :@
