The Upcoming Week !!

HEY! It is the 28^th of November J It is still snowing!! Tomorrow we have a Self Help Africa Workshop in Maynooth. I can’t wait class Emnett  say it was excellent. On Thursday we have a tag rugby match against another school. In PE we have been participating in Tag Rugby and I really enjoyed the experience J On Friday we have our Home Ec fashion show. Clara is our model and by Friday we have to have our Mood Board, a song to go with outfit and our Cruella Deville and Superman outfit completed. Next week is going to be abusy week :)

Podcast Workshop!!!

Hey! It is Saturday the 27th of November ! I guess I can call it Christmas time. Its snowing !!! And it is to continue on till next week as well :) Back to school. On Friday in Religion we made our advent wreaths. They turned out really good. I was so happy with mine. The Advent season began on Friday. In the second half of the afternoon we had apodcast workshop :) It was excellent, way better than what I was expecting. We had a chance to create our own podcasts. My group did a podcast on I'm A Student Get Me Out Of Here!! It was really good as we incorporated animal noises such as crickets and lion roars into it. We also got the chance to change the pitches of the voices which I found amazing, and also to speed up the voices too. I found this workshop very beneficial as I can listen to podcasts on my way to school. I will definitely continue to use podcasts now that I am familiar with how to use them !!!

School days!!!!

HEY ! ME AGAIN ! Yesterday in Religion we found out that we are going to have two sessions in class to make our very own Advent wreaths! I cant wait J It should be rally good! Today in Mini-Company we had a talk by Yvonne Scully on how to set up your own business in the future I really enjoyed it. In history we presented oue History presentaionto the 3^rd years. It was really nerve-wrecking as it was my first time but I think I did OK J

Geography!!!

Hey its me again! On Monday Mrs Leahy showed us some of the new programs which came with her new computer. She was lost in her own little world and us in hers. She did the draw for our geography projects and we found out that myself, Siobhán and Róisín were 6^th in the line!! In Religion we had a prayer service in the meditation room with Mr. K. There we prayed for all our relatives who have died and put their names in stars. On Wednesday we distriuted our Green Hero Magazine throughout the locality.It was really fun especially when Siobhán couldn’t open the door to get out of St. Patricks School J We WERE VERY SUCCESSFUL.

Mini-Company Workshop! ! !

Hey! It is the 19^th of November and 5 WEEKS TILL CHRISTMAS! ! ! I cant wait J On Monday we had a mini-company workshop in Naas. It was really beneficial and I really learned a lot about how good communicational skills are necessary for a good realationship within the business and to customers. Basically good communicational skills are necessary for a business to run to run smoothly. We watched an American video explaining the above communicational skills. J

Work Experience Final Day !!!

Hello, the final day in Tallaght was a sad day as i knew i would not be working here nexy week. Iwould be back to school. I was in the schoolroom again with seven students. I taught maths and Geography. Barry had brought in different tpes of rock for example limestone and granite and the students had to match the right one with thwe picture. After lunch we began Christmas Art activities with the children. We  made snowflakes. Over all I really enjoed my work experience in Talllahght hospital and I had a wonderful time!!!  

Work Experience Day 4 !!!!

Hey ! On day 4 i was downstairs in the outpatients department. Iwas with the Dietitician. She gave me a powepoint about her job, the coolege points needed to be a Dietitican and the difference between a Nutritionist and a Dietitician. I truly learned a lot and discovered that i would really like to be a Dietitican in the future. For the second part of the day I was back in the playroom bonding with the children and doing art activities.!!!!! 

Work Experience day 3. !!!!

Hey! it is till the 18th but now i am going to tell you about my 3rd day in the hospital! today i was in the school room. there were five students all together. I was privilaged as Barry gave me the chance to teach the students who were completing their Junior Certificate this year. Today i taught English, Maths and History!! My break was at 12.15 and i sat with the people working inthe Hospital. My day finished at 2.30.

Work Experince day 1 and 2!!!

Hey! it is the 18th 0f October and tomorrow last week i finished my work experience in Tallaght Hospital. It was a once in a lifetime experience and i thoroughly enjoyed it. the staff and families were really friendly there and they made me feel very welcome. On the 1st  and 2nd day i was in the creche.I was introduced to Linda and Ann. They were the play specialists in that area. On my 1st  and 2nd day i played with the children and really connected with them !!! The creche is not only a place of play but the play specialists also work with the families of the kids to reasure them.

Non-Uniform day ! ! !

It is non-uniform day today and basically everyone has dressed up! Except me :(  The first, second and third year theme is Haunted House. While the TY theme is Scary Movies and the sixth year theme is Harry Potter. Our TY class has had a fun morning in Science we talked and in Tech we watched the Simpsons Halloween Movie :) Today is the Halloween mid-term and I`m off to Turkey on Saturday ! ! ! !

ACCORD.

Hey there!! It is still the 21st of October :) Today we had a talk about Relationships from ACCORD. A woman called Margaret gave us the talk. It was really good! INFACT it was much better than I thought. I learned about the different relationships in the home and within our community. We learned about how to deal with our emotions calmly and smoothly. Today we have a Spanish test on everything we have done since we started TY. Its going to be hard, but were just going to have to deal with it ! Tomorrow we have Halloween dress up day! Our theme is Scary Movies!!! Should be good ! Talk to you soon.

Our TY week !!!!

Hey! It is the 21st of October and 1 week to Halloween! haha :)  Cant wait. Friday last we had a brilliant talk from Colour Me Beautiful. It was really good! I was a deep. Which means dark deep colours suit my skin tone, eye colour and hair colour. It was really good as we learned a lot about ourselves and what our style personality is!!! Yesterday we had our second mini-company in Naas. There we discussed our Green Hero Magazine. We discussed our market research and how we collected it, suc as issuing surveys to teachers within our school community and to local primary schools. After we got to go to Mac Donalds!!!

Water!!!!!!

Hey, our given topic today is Water!!!!Water covers 70% of the Earth's surface it is vital for all forms of life. That is an interesting fact:)
On Earth, water is found mostly in oceans and other places such as ponds and lakes. Oceans hold 97% of surface water, glaciers and polar ice caps 2.4%, and other land surface water such as rivers, lakes and ponds 0.6%.
Water on Earth travels continuously through the cycle of evaporation or transpiration, precipitation, and surface runoff.

My General Week In TY!!!!!!

Heyaaa!In science class now! Great news! In mini-company we reached our goal of €500 :). This means that we can now go ahead with our ECO Magazine!We are now only €100 away to having the costs to cover the printing of our magazine. Tomorrow we have tag rugby with Tom. It should be good. This is our fourth week participating in it and it is a lot of exercise.In Pastoral Care last week we did hand massages with rose and other different oils! It was really relaxing. Today we have Pastoral Care and I cant wait to see what Ms. KB has planned for us!!!!!!

Music classes!!!!

Hey! It is Friday the 8th of October! :).On Monday we had a talk from Orla from Enterprise Ireland. It was really good and helpful. She gave us good advise on our ECO Magazine and different methods of market research. On Wednesday in music it was group work day! That meant we had to work our African Music Group. We are doing a mixture of traditional african songs and also a variety of our own african songs. It will be really good!!!!

Drama Competition During English Class!!!!!

Heya! We are in IT class now and blogging as usual :). We are entering  a drama competition in our english class in the New Year and we are performing a role play from the novel  "Noughts and Crosses". How exciting! But this novel has a twist. Instead of the white people dominating the blacks, the black dominate the whites. This is an excellent story with a gripping plot. Today during our english claas we went down to the PE hall to begin acting out our play. There we were given our scripts and we mde excellent progress. Bring on the New Year! :p  

Young Scientist and Vaccinations!

Hey! me again. Its 97 days till the Bt Young Scientist Exhibition in the RDS. We submitted our project yesterday and made the final payment.It  should be really good. But i'm mainly looking forward to all the free stuff! Haha ;).
Today is the 5th of October and 3 weeks till Halloween! But today is the Cervical Cancer Vaccination! :( I am dreading it . I hate injections. Well I suppose its better thean getting cancer in the future.

Geography Project- Trip Around The World!!!!!

HeY! Me again, we are in geography class now and blogging once again! :) Ms. L. our geography teacher has assigned the class a task . We are to write about a place we intend to visit in our trip around the world. Lets see we have a budget of €12,000 and a year to complete it. My chosen country is India. India is a third world country in the east of the world. While doing this project I  have learned a lot.

Naas and Fun Walk !!

Hey, it’s me again! It is the 23rd of September and we are 4 weeks into TY. J On Monday we went to the Moat Theatre in Naas with our class for mini-company. It was really good, we learned a lot about forming our own mini-companies and working together in groups. We learned the techniques for brainstorming and much more. But best of all was Mc Donald’s afterwards! Haha J Tomorrow is the ‘FUN WALK’ and the TY colour is yellow! Our friendship song is Reach for the Stars by S Club 7. J I can’t wait! It should be a really good.

J.C. Results !!

Hiya ! It is Sunday the 19th of September and I am once again blogging about my TY Experience! Haha. On Wednesday the 15th of September : 4 days ago my classmates and I received our J.C. results! It was great to finally get them back ! :) I was really happy with my results. I honoured everything! The night was spent  celebrating and partying with all my friends. It truly was a night to remember! :) Bring on the leaving  certificate! :p. Haha
Tomorrow we have training for the running of our Mini-Company in Naas. It should be of great use in the future for running our own business! And also a lot of craic ! Haha :)

Carlingford!!

Hey there, me again! It is Thursday the 16th of September and i'm lovin TY to bits! On Monday we headed off to Carlingford and we arrived back on Tuesday. We had an amazing time! :). We bonded with our class mates well and especially with our tutor Ms O'C and Ms. Rowan! Haha, mud fights and everything! On the 1st day our group did mind challenges and group rowing. It was deadly! Especially jumping into the sea and also seeing the huge kettle make its way across the water! The 2nd day began with the 8 am wake up ! it was so early, not what i am used to ! We were  wrecked after the previous day.  After breakfast we climbed the high ropes! They were excellent. :) We finished off our Carlingford experience with group orienteering! this was a great finish to the Carlingford trip! Carlingford was definitely a once in a lifetime experience! Haha :p

TY Experience !!

Hey Trish here! Only in Ty four days now and loving it! It’s the 3^rd of September already and I’ve made lots of new friends! J. This year Ty is a bit different as all the Spanish students are in the same class. So I knew many people in my class already! Our class group is called Amina, which means truth and honesty in African! On our first day we met all our new teachers for the year, which are many new faces to get to know! We also found out our tasks for the year and projects for example in Home Ec we have to design a dress for a fashion show at the end of the year! How exciting and in music we are forming a band! J In Ty we try out many new subjects such as art and we form mini- companies too! I am really looking forward to the rest of the year and especially CARLINGFORD! Haha. J

Hey there, me again! It is Thursday the 9^th of September and we have IT class for the second time. I love the idea of blogging as it is a great way to keep a diary of TY! J

 On Monday the 6^th of September it was Social Development Day. It was brilliant! It was a great way to become more familiar with ourselves, make new friends and bond together as class. A man called Austin Dunne was our speaker for the day. The highlight of this day was learning about our personality types. I was a melancholic, the observer! J Other groups were the directors, moderators and entertainers.

We recently found out our colours for the Home Ec fashion show which will take place at the end of the year. Our group received the colours black and white! We have decided to design a dress from the 80’s! J
